Tech Tips From Kenny Blackmon
Thanks to Kenny Blackmon From Newmar and Dan O’Neil from Camping Connection in Kissimmee for attending our Fall 2009 Rally in Eustis and offering our fellow NUTS some valuable technical advice. Below are excerpts of some of the questions asked from Kenny’s Tech Seminar -
Q. My Weldex rearview monitor keeps flickering on and off.
A. Check that all connections on back of monitor are plugged in tightly and make sure that the inline fuse holder springs are making proper contact with the wire in the circuit. On some older coaches, the monitor may be wired through a relay. Trace wiring to locate relay, test relay and replace as needed.
Q. My Power Gear electric levelers work intermittently with not all jacks being deployed?
A. Check wiring connections at each jack motor and the main module to verify good connection and no water intrusion. National typically extended the factory Power Gear harness, so trace the harness from the main module to the jacks to locate the splice to verify a good connection.
Q. I have a metal to metal scraping noise near the firewall of my 2003-2005 Seabreeze.
A. The metal firewall was installed to the framing with self-tapping screws that may have worked loose causing the metal to metal scraping. On some units a frame joint may be the cause.
